Booking summaries are posted online and update every 4-6 hours. This gives family members, attorneys, and the public a way to see who has been recently arrested and booked into the jail. The summaries show names, booking dates, charges, and other intake data. Because the facility sits in downtown Toledo near the courthouse, transporting inmates to court is fast and efficient.

The booking process includes medical screening, mental health checks, security classification, and property inventory. All of this happens before an inmate gets a housing assignment. Under ORC Section 341.01, the sheriff has charge of the facility and every person inside it.
