It got a major expansion in February 2007 when a 60-bed direct supervision unit and a 40-bed dorm-style housing unit were added. That brought the total capacity to 162 inmates. The Corrections Division is the largest part of the Seneca County Sheriff's Office and employs 46 full-time correction officers. These officers run the jail, register sex offenders, provide court security at three Seneca County courts, and transport offenders to and from court.
While in custody, inmates can work on their GED and take part in Bible studies. The jail provides video visitation through CIDNET, which can be done onsite in the lobby or from home. Video visits are available on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday between 8:30am and 10:30am, 12:30pm and 2:00pm, and 5:30pm and 9:30pm. Each inmate gets one thirty-minute visit per day during those windows.
